Vinitaly awards: Ceci fared well this year (and we’re proud of it!)

Cantine Ceci came home with two major awards this year from Vinitaly, the annual Italian wine trade fair held on the Verona fair grounds.

It is with great pride that we share the news that our Lambrusco Terre Verdiane and our To You Rosso were both judged to be “5 star” wines by an elite panel of wine professionals and writers (see the panel below, chaired by the illustrious wine writer Ian D’Agata).

The “5 star” prize was created by the fair organizers 23 years ago. Its scope was that of rewarding and stimulating the efforts of wineries who invest in the continuous quality improvement of their products.

Over time, the prize has become an excellent marketing tool for the promotion of products headed to foreign markets. Today it serves as a guarantee for international buyers of the quality of new wines that have been released onto the market but are still unknown to them.

Even the choice of the date for the blind tasting, a few days before the fair opens, is strategic from a marketing perspective. It allows the winning wineries to present their new products with a mention of the prizes they have been awarded.
